Then and now - County Governor's residence in Luleå


County Governor's residence in Luleå was built in 1852-1856. The building in located on the bank of the Lule River.


Back in those days, it was the only County Governor's residence in Sweden that was built of wood. This particular style of wood architecture was introduced into Sweden in the mid-19th century.

The original drawing featured neither the extension at the entrance nor the balcony overlooking the river.

Then as now, the main building accommodated the County Governor's office, his dwelling and the reception rooms.
