Bus service in Luleå

Out of many things I started to love about Lulea is colour of the buses. The red buses are eye catching. The intra city bus service is operated by LLT. The buses are always on time.

Interestingly the buses do not except cash. One has to have a bus card or pay with credit / debit card or mobile wallet to ride a bus. If someone pays with card, it is 35 SEK, which is about 3.5 USD and 320 taka, per journey. This seems a lot if it’s a short journey. But one ticket allows hopping onto any bus within the next 75 minutes. So validity of each ticket is 75 minutes. And it is possible to reach from one corner of the city to another in 75 minutes.

If someone pays through mobile wallet, payment is 29 SEK. And with bus card it is 25 SEK per ticket.

Most people pay with bus card I see.

Lulea is a small town; one can reach one place from another by LLT ( Luleå Lokaltrafik AB ) operated buses as the routes are well connected. The busses are slower compared to private cars though. During office hours, some of the routes become a little crowded but in general there are ample spaces to choose from for sitting.

Busses in Lulea run smoothly. Hence I write most of my blog posts while travelling! I am writing this one on the way to home from the city.
